Judson D. Dayton, aged 75 years passed away Tuesday, March 5, 1935, after nearly a year of failing health. Although ill so long, he was confined to the bed only 3 days.  He was born in the town of Middlesex on March 24, 1869, a son of Daniel and Amanda Blair Dayton and spent most of his life in that town.     

About forty-eight years ago Mr. and Mrs. Dayton and sons, Luther, Dana and Orlie, and Mrs. Amanda Dayton went to Echo, Oregon, where they spent several years.   Having lost their oldest and youngest sons and mother, the three returned in 1894.

He leaves his wife, Minnie Underwood Dayton, with whom he was united in marriage 54 years ago, and a son, Dana, both of Rushville.

Funeral services were held on Friday at 2 p. m., Rev. K. W. Height officiating and burial was made in Overackers cemetery.  Smith Kennerson, Lovell Adams, Frank Angell, Charles Lazarus and Clarence Lazarus acted as bearers.

Mrs. Ruth E. Bassett Durwood, 42, of Middlesex, died Tuesday, February 12 in Thompson Memorial Hospital.  She was born in East Smithfield, Pennsylvania, and had lived in the area for the past 40 years. She was a member of the Middlesex Hose Company and its Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, nine children, Rodney, Larry, Russell, Robert, Paul, Deborah, June, Laurie and Lisa; five brothers, James of Bellona, Mahlon and William of Canandaigua, Mrs. Marion Wood of Himrod, Mrs, Mervin Mitch of Middlesex; Mrs. Roger Lead and Eila Gavette and Mrs. Edward Miles of Canandaigua; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Friday, from the Kennedy Funeral Home, with burial in Overackers Cemetery.
