Mrs. Ruth A. Hatch -  The death of Mrs. Ruth A, Hatch, aged 76 years, occurred at her home in Bellona at 2  o'clock yesterday afternoon. She is survived by |daughters, Mrs. Oughterson, Mrs. Tuchel and Mrs. Elmer Briggs; son, Ashley Hatch, all of Bellona, and one sister in California.

The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the house, Rev. T, Maxwell Morrison officiating.  Burial will he made at the Bellona Cemetery.

Holtby - In Penn Yan, February 2, 1926, Wm. Holtby, aged 72 years. He was born in Scarborough, Yorkshire, England, August 8, 1863, and came to America at the age of 21 years, locating at Junius.  He later bought a farm near Bellona, where he lived for 30 years. He possessed a very genial disposition, making many friends thereby. 

About six years ago he married Mrs. Annie B. Yost for his second wife. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, George H., and Edward, of Geneva; Alfred W., of Bellona, and one daughter, Mrs. Geo. L. Huie, of Bellona. The funeral was held from the home on Brown street on Thursday afternoon, with interment in Bellona cemetery.

Bellona - Mrs. Clara Hayes, who lives on the Wabash Rd., RD 1, Geneva had just arrived in Florida on last Thursday to spend the winter there, in her trailer home, located at Vero Beach, when she received word of the death of her sister, Mrs. Louise Jayne and husband George Jayne, in a car accident on Friday. She returned home by plane, to attend their funerals held on Monday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. George Jayne PENN YAN - Funeral services for George Jayne, 80 and Mrs. Louise (Turner) Jayne, 66, were at 2 p.m. yesterday at the Weldon Funeral Home, Penn Yan. The Rev. Anthony Marino of Rochester officiated, assisted by Rev. Herbert Tennies, pastor of the Bellona Memorial and Seneca Number 9 Presbyterian Churches. Burial was in Bellona Cemetery.

Bearers were Samuel Bonacci, Robert Cook Sr., Albert Turner, George Turner,  Lynwood Beattie and Roger Beattie.

Services set for accident victims - PENN YAN - Funeral services for George S. Jayne, 80, and Louise Turner Jayne 66, who were killed yesterday in an automobile accident, will be Monday, at 2 pm at the Weldon Funeral Home.  The Rev. Marino of Rochester, assisted by the Rev. Herbert L. Tennies, pastor of Bellona Memorial and Seneca No. 9 Presbyterian Churches, will officiate. Burial will be in Bellona Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Fund.

Mr. and Mrs. Jayne lived at RD 1, Geneva, and had been long-time residents of the Hall area. He was a member of the Hall Congregational Church, the Hall Volunteer Fire Co., and an auto salesman for Jolley Chevrolet in Penn Yan until his retirement.

Mrs. Jayne was a member of Bellona Memorial Presbyterian Church and a member of the Bellona Blue Bird Guild.

Surviving are Donald Davie of Fort Plain, N.Y., Frederick, Theodore, and Edward Davie of Geneva, all sons of Mrs. Jayne; Mrs. Harriet Atkinson of Stanley and Mrs. Ray Gould of San Francisco, Calif., daughters of Mr. Jayne;  Mr. Jayne's sister, Mrs. Lydis Hospes of Geneva; Mrs. Jayne's sister, Mrs. Clara T. Hayes, also of Geneva RD; Mr. Jayne has two grandchildren  and two great-grandchildren; Mrs. Jayne has 13 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

N. Peter Jensen - PENN YAN - N. Peter Jensen, 78, of RD 4, Penn Yan, died yesterday at home.  Friends may call at the Weldon Funeral Home on Sunday, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Herbert Gennings will officiate. Burial will be in Bellona Cemetery.

Mr. Jensen was born in the Town of Geneva. He worked for 20 years at the Market Basket Co., and for 12 years at the Hulse Manufacturing Co. before retiring in 1968.

He is survived by his wife, Dagny E. Jensen; a son, Cordon Jensen of Stanley; three daughters, Mrs. Harvey (June) Brink, of Leroy; Mrs. Oakleigh (Viola Pauline) Millerd, of Penn Yan and Mrs. James (Betty) Dame Sr., of Macedon; three sisters, Mrs. Harold (Christine) Tighe, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Mrs. Herman (Rose) Fitchner, of Clearwater, Fla., and Mrs. Agnes Everson, of Penn Yan; 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.

Louise Kipp - PENN YAN - Miss Louise Kipp, 86, of 117 Chapel St., died yesterday at Soldiers and Sailors Hospital.  There are no prior calling hours. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Feb. 3 at First Presbyterian Church of Penn Yan. The Rev. William Wilcox will officiate. Burial will be in Bellona Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Miss Kipp was born in Penn Yan and spent most of her life in the Penn Yan area. She was a graduate of Penn Yan Academy, Buffalo State Teachers College and received her master's degree from Columbia University.

She had been a dietitian at military hospitals during World War I. She was a home economics teacher at Penn Yan Academy for many years before her retirement in 1953. She was a member of the American Association of University Women and First Presbyterian Church of Penn Yan.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital or the American Cancer Society.

Surviving are one sister, Miss Mary Kipp of Penn Yan; two nieces, Mrs. E. S. Oberdorf of New Port Richey, Fla., and Mrs. Phyllis Hoose of Geneva; one nephew, Wilfred S. Reed of Geneva; and several great-nieces and nephews.
