LARISH - In Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Sunday, March 10, 1946, Mrs. Margaret Lillian Larish, 61. She was born in Rochester and had made her home in Barrington for the past 16 years. She leaves her husband, Herl, two sisters, Mrs. Emma Heinsler and Mrs. Irma Wolf, both of Rochester. Funeral services were held at Weldon Funeral Home, East Main Street, Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock and at St. Michael's Church at 9:30. Burial in St. Michael's cemetery.

Q. Is a veteran's compensation or pension subject to seizure, by a creditor or for" taxation?

A. No.

 

Q. May a veteran receive both compensation and state benefits for old age?

A. Yes. There is no restriction in current legislation as to the concurrent receipt of disability compensation and old age benefits.

 

Q. Is the same amount of pension payable to those who served over seas as to those who did not?

A. Yes, there is no distinction under the law between pension paid veterans who served overseas and those who remained in this country.

 

Q.  I was just notified of the denial of my claim for pension, how long do I have to make an appeal?

A.  Your appeal should be addressed to the Veterans Administration office which notified you of disallowance and must be filed within one year of the date of the disallowance.

 

Q. Are female veterans entitled to domiciliary care? 

A, Yes, under the same eligibility rules as male veterans.

 

Q. May a loan guaranty be secured to buy an automobile?

A. Yes, but only if the automobile is necessary to and is to be actually used in the conduct of a business or farming operation.
