The Geneva Gazette                  Friday                    April 26, 1901                               by: Dianne Thomas

STEPHEN BORGMAN - Only son and child of Bernard Borgman, died last Tuesday in a hospital at Rochester. Father and mother doted on this son, whose love was fully reciprocated. A new apartment was added to the Ramsey house, their home, and fitted up for his enjoyment.

The lad was a pupil of the G.C. & U.S. and his teachers speak of him as both amiable, and bright in his studies. We unite with a host of friends here and elsewhere, in heartfelt sympathy for the parents thus sorely afflicted.

The patient was put under the influence of an anesthetic, prior to undergoing treatment for some disease of the nose, to which treatment he had been subjected once or twice previously, as we are informed, without deleterious results. He died on the operating table. It is supposed he was troubled with disease of the heart which the administration of an anesthetic intensified.  He was in the hands of an experienced and skillful surgeon.
