Mr. Gearon stated that he had left a wife in Ireland about 12 yrs ago, and not long after coming here, sent money to bear her expenses to America, desiring her to come. However he had heard nothing up to this time, had not received the least information concerning her nor the money sent. He had written again but obtained no answer and concluded that she was dead. Parmelee supposed that conclusion to be correct. (the name Gearon was originally Guerin in Irish)
