Rousell, Joseph

Ft.Covington June 24, 1865

A private of Capt. H.P. Gillis� Co, H 98th Regt. NY Vols. In service of the United States who was discharged at Ladies Home US General Hospital New York on June 12, 1865 is an applicant for an invalid pension by reason of an alleged disability resulting from a gunshot wound of the left arm. Said wound was caused by a musket ball which entered the left arm on its inner surface about two inches below the shoulder joint passing through the arm fracturing the humerus. The wound is unhealed. The humerus is diseased. The arm is permanently contracted. The disability is permanent and total. Fee $1.50 paid. Certificate made and sent. Exam not ordered.

September 22, 1866. Exam ordered for increase.

Has been examined. Left arm is completely disabled. Has two running sores,one near the shoulder and one near the elbow joint, discharging much pus. Certificate made and sent. Disability equal to loss of hand.

Rushford, Lanson

July 26, 1866

Late a private in Co. D, 142nd Regt. NY Vols. who was discharged at Raleigh NC on June 7, 1865 is an applicant for an invalid pension by reason of an alleged disabilty resulting from a gunshot wound. He received a wound made by a musket ball which entered and passed through the upper portion of the tibia (right leg) just below where the ligamentum patellae is inserted into it causing much inflammation, ulceration and destruction of tissue. There is a deep extensive and adherent cicotrix . There is a weakness of the knee joint. He is one half disabled.

Certificate made and sent. fee charged to Govt. Exam ordered.

Russell, Charles L.

April 14, 1866

Late a lieutenant in Co. E, 93rd Regt. NY Vols. who was discharged on June 29, 1865 is an applicant for an invalid pension by reason of a gunshot wound received in battle. Wound was caused by a musket ball or piece of shell which struck him on the right hand just above the last joint of the index finger wounding the joint and causing anchylosis of the same.

Disability 1/3. Fee 12/ paid. Certificate made and sent. Exam not ordered.

Russell, Erastus C.

A sergeant in L.D. Ellsworth's Co. "C" 98th Regt. NYS Vols. who was discharged from the service of the United States at Camp Carey near Newport News VA on April 7, 1862 and is an applicant for an invalid pension by reason of an alleged disability resulting from a bronchial disease of the lungs. Said Russell is afflicted with a persistent cough, difficulty breathing and general debility resulting therefrom. Disability total. Fee $1.50 paid. Certificate sent.

December 25, 1865

Re-examined. Disability continues and is total. Certificate made and sent.

Sanjule, Peter

September 20, 1866

Late a private in Co. E, 106th Regt. NY Vols. whose name is on the pension list of the rolls of the Albany Agency for five dollars per month, by reason of disability resulting from a gunshot wound of the left leg. Wound was caused by a musket ball which entered the left leg on its inner surface at its middle third. Inflammation, suppuration and ulceration followed. The nerve(?) of the leg was injured. There is pain in the leg and foot, aggravated by much walking.

Disability continues at the rate of 5(?) of a total disability. Certificate made and sent.

Savage, George

Franklin. Oct. 21, 1863.

Private of Capt. James H. Pierce's Co.(C) of 148th Rgt. NY Infantry, discharged from the US service at Chestnut Hill Philadelphia the 20th of July 1863. Claims invalid pension by reason of general debility and broken down constitution caused by typhoid fever contracted while in the service of the US in the line of duty. Fee paid.

Seymour, Carlos

T. of Clinton, Clinton Co. NY (October, 1863)

A private of Capt. D. Lockerby's Co.(A) 96th Regt. NY Vols discharged at Ft. Monroe VA on March 18th 1863. Claims a pension by reason of gunshot wound of the right foot made by a musket ball which entered the foot on its upper side about an inch above the last joint of the third toe passing downwards and forwards and emerged on the bottom of the foot fracturing one or two of the metatarsal bones. The protuberant callous on the bottom of the foot is very tender causing constant lameness. Disability 1/2. Fee paid. Certificate sent
