this may be either
of the John Sanders listed in Erwin's earlier company, or the Jonathan
Sanders who was living in Dickinson in 1820 and 1860. Married Sally
Drake on February 11, 1822. They were both born in New Hampshire and
Sally�s father was Daniel Drake of Moira. Jonathan had served as a
substitute for Talmadge Barnum of Bangor . His brother William
Saunders was living in Putnam Co. Ohio in 1853 and they had both seen
service at French�s Mills. Jonathan and his family lived in the
northern part of the Town of Dickinson and got their mail at Alburgh.
Jonathan was born in about 1796 and Sally was born in about 1807. They
were both from NH. Their children included: Julius born ca. 1833; Mary
born ca. 1835; Amy born ca. 1842; Willard W.J. born ca. 1846; Oscar W.
born ca. 1848; Jonathan died on August 3, 1874 and his widow was still
alive in 1883 |
