"Barnes" in Seaver's book and on NYS transcription of Asaph
Perry's Co. He was born in 1789 in NH . Married Betsey Jones (born
about 1795) in Romney, Grafton Co. NH in 1815. She died April 22, 1826
two weeks after the birth of her third child Eliza Ann at Ft.Covington
NY. He then married her sister Mary Jane Jones (born about
1805) in Romney on January 31, 1827. He served as a private in Capt.
David Erwin�s and Capt. Asaph Perry�s co. of militia in 1813 and
again in 1814. He and several others had avoided being captured at
French�s Mills (ie Ft. Covington) He had been born in 1789 in New
Hampshire and died at Ft.Covington on March 18, 1861 He and his wife
were living with their son Hiram in 1860. His wife died November 1897.

Rufus Tilden�s company of militia. Reuben operated a hotel/tavern in
East Dickinson until his death in 1858. His pension application
records the following children: Polly January 3, 1813; Oclive(?)
January 18, 1816; Alman January 23, 1818 married Alma Ives in 1848 and
had children A. Leroy, Luella, and Atwood. Edwin March 24, 1820
married Mary Taylor and had children Nancy and Amelia Elvira October
19, 1822 married William A. Rice and had children Maryette, Harriet,
Angelo, Albert, Anabel, Rolly, Sidney and Forna. His widow still lived
in East Dickinson in 1881 |
